Duke Vinson, LPC, NCC, CCMHC, CCAADC, CCPD-D, CCS, SAP Executive Director
As the Executive Director of Bluff Plantation, Duke Vinson leads all counseling, recovery and business administrative operations of this world class, recovery destination and treatment center. Duke brings a wealth of practical know how, personal and professional experiences which has made him a valued strategic leader to recovery programs from Georgia to Mississippi. Back home in Georgia, Duke has brought his vision, work ethic and dedication to treatment and recovery to the Bluff Plantation. He is translating his efforts into measurable strategies and concrete actions that advance Bluff Plantation’s mission to be one of the most comprehensive, luxurious residential addiction treatment and rehabilitation centers on the East Coast. Working alongside Dr. William Jacobs, Medical Director of Bluff Plantation and the partners at the Medical College of Georgia, Duke Vinson ensures that leading-edge programs and services are provided and are consistent with client needs to achieve census and clinical goals in accordance with Bluff Plantation’s policies and procedures. Prior to Bluff Plantation, Duke Vinson was the Executive Director at Oxford Centre, a comprehensive addiction treatment center in the academic, college town where Ole Miss is located. His experiences helped make the transition to the Bluff Plantation, Georgia Regents University and the Medical College of Georgia seamless. Duke led the center by integrating medical, clinical and experiential components of addiction recovery, providing comprehensive treatment models that were outcome and evidence-based. Prior to joining The Oxford Centre, he worked as a clinical expert and therapist at Talbott Recovery in Atlanta before being appointed Director of Business Development. A native of Columbus, Georgia, Duke Vinson held a career in marketing and management before entering the field of addiction treatment.
William S. Jacobs, M.D. Medical Director
Dr. William S. Jacobs, is the Medical Director of Bluff Plantation. He also serves as Chief of Addiction Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Regents University. Dr. Jacobs is a national clinical expert, triple board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He has served as a consultant for the Florida Office of Drug Control, the United States Senate Crime and Drugs Subcommittee, and the U.S. Department of Labor. He has testified on Capitol Hill on MDMA – commonly known as ecstacy – and prescription misuse and abuse and has testified and consulted for the Drug Enforcement Agency on safe prescribing of narcotic drugs and the model of ideal treatment programs. Jacobs is also national forensic expert in addiction caused by medical treatment, accidental overdose, injury and death, as well as tobacco.
